Dr Chari underwent medical training in Liverpool, where he obtained a number of academic prizes. He later completed Fellowships at the McGill University in Montreal and at the University of Strasbourg in France.
In 2014, Dr Chari entered the GMC’s specialist register for clinical radiology. Soon after, he took up a post in Oxford as a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist, an area where he is widely respected.
He is part of a multidisciplinary, regional group, offering advice on sports and exercise medicine. Their patients include national and international level elite athletes, runners, rowers, football, rugby and cricket players.
An aspect of medicine Dr Chari has been invited to take further, as a member of the medical team at the IAAF international games and the Commonwealth games.
Dr Chari believes an equal level of care should be available to patients of all ages and abilities. An ethos he puts into practice through musculoskeletal diagnostics, image guided intervention and wider clinical support.
Working closely with radiologists, or orthopaedic colleagues is equally important to Dr Chari, to provide patients with effective, individual care.
Research & Teaching
Dr Chari has an immense passion for research and academic activities. He has authored and co-authored a number of medical publications, along with participating in continuing medical education across his field.
Along with regularly speaking at UK and international conferences, in 2022, Dr Chari was the organiser of a national radiology conference in Oxford.
